Government Cheese were a rock group from Bowling Green, Kentucky that formed in 1985. After the band's breakup Tommy Womack went on to play in the Bis-quits, Daddy as well as five solo albums. Billy Mack Hill went on to play in Moral Chain of Custody

In 1997, Tommy Womack published Cheese Chronicles: The True Story of a Rock ‘n’ Roll Band You’ve Never Heard Of which details the often unglamorous lifestlye of a hard working rock band trying to make a name for themselves.[1]

In 2011, the band reunited to play reunion shows in Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY to capacity crowds.
